Discovering Packages
OpenPKG: generous programmers from around the world all
join forces to help you shoot yourself in the foot with thousand packages — for free.
What to choose
OpenPKG is an extensive toolkit, currently
providing over 1,000 packages, each covering one or more contained
upstream vendor software components. Unless the users already knows
the name of the software component he wants to use, it is rather hard
to determine which particular set of OpenPKG packages have to be taken
to build a particular server solution.
Package Browser to the rescue
To solve this problem, the
OpenPKG Package
Browser exists, a web interface which allows you to browse packages
by their groups or search for packages by name or full text keywords.
For each found package, mostly all its related information is displayed,
including its package headers, its package files, related security
advisories, etc. Use this valuable resource whenever possible!
